FAQ

  • A single registration fee covers all members of the pair or team. Team members do not need to register separately. 
  • You must check in for each event if participating in more than one. Contestants will be given their puzzle at check in. 
  • Brief rules will be given at the start of each competition and the time will start immediately after.
  • Seating is on a first come first serve basis. 
  • Tables will be 8 feet long and are divided in half for Solo and Pairs, but Teams get to use the whole table
  • Blades or other tools to open boxes are not allowed.  The cellophane or stickers will be pre cut.
  • You may use earbuds, but please refrain from singing to prevent distracting other participants
  • Puzzle swap: anyone may participate in the swap at no cost. You can bring 1 or many puzzles that have no missing pieces. For each puzzle contributed to the swap, you may take home one puzzle of similar piece count. Quality standards are required, no dollar store puzzles may be brought to the swap.
  • Youth may participate in the adult divisions, but adults may not compete in a Youth division
  • Snacks and drinks are allowed and you may bring your own.
  • To help capture memories and provide free event pictures, the event will be photographed. Your entry and presence on the event premises constitutes your consent to be photographed and included on social media (Facebook groups) and promotions. By entering the event you waive and release any claims you may have related to the use of photographs of you at the event.
  • The event host and venue are not responsible for lost or stolen items. However, we will do our best to help find any items that may go missing.


Rules

  • For each contest, each person/pair/team will receive the same puzzle in an opaque bag. Rules will be given, and then the MC will count down "3, 2, 1, GO!"  Everyone will open the bag, open the puzzle box, and begin puzzling.  Rankings will be determined by finish time.  The contest puzzles are yours to keep.
  • No early starts! If you open your bag and begin your puzzle before the start of the contest you will be disqualified.
  • Box top holders may be used. Other personal aides are also allowed as long as they do not interfere with the puzzle area of other competitors. Please contact the event host at [email protected] with any questions.
  • Individual timers are not available at the event, but you may bring your own personal time. There will also be a timer displayed on the TV at the front of the room visible to everyone.
  • Each individual / pair can use up to 2 trays of cardboard, foam, or other type of material of a maximum size of 16" x 24" as an aid during the assembly of the puzzles.
  • Each team can use up to 4 trays of cardboard, foam, or other type of material of a maximum size of 16" x 24" as an aid during the assembly of the puzzles. 
  • Judges will be monitoring the area and watching as teams get close to finishing. When your team is close to finishing, raise your hand and a judge will come to your table to watch you finish and record your time. If a judge is unable to get to your table when you finish please record your own time on the time card provided at your table.
  • If, once the maximum time has elapsed, the puzzle is not complete, a photograph will be taken of your table and a judge will count the remaining pieces not placed. Single pieces or a group of two pieces will be counted as one. A group of 3 pieces correctly placed in the puzzle area (at the judges discretion) will be considered completed and not counted.
